Truman and the Freedom Train Joint Economic Committee

During Truman's administration, there were government-level attempts to unify America after the horrors of World War II. The post-war period also saw major labor strikes and compromises as unions made up for suppression during the war.

The Freedom Train was a seven-car rolling exhibit containing documents of American liberty next to documents of tyranny and despotism that travelled the country fromĀ  1947-1949. 126 Historic Freedom Documents were provided by the National Archives and the Library of Congress
